Meanwhile, Senator Ruben Gallego is advocating for expanded research into psychedelic therapies, including MDMA, ibogaine, ketamine, and psilocybin, through an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act.

Sen. Gallego recently introduced an amendment to the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, calling for the VA to research innovative therapies to treat PTSD, depression, and other issues.
